3 New Exercise Classes You’ve Never Tried, But ShouldJacob
Do traditional gym classes make you yawn before you start? Does the idea of one more Yoga or Zumba class make you shudder? Are you sick of here with Pilates? You, my friend, have ‘gym boredom syndrome’, and we have some ideas to get you out of your exercise routine and start having fun again!
There are some wild and crazy exercise trends like trapeze and aerial yoga, but let’s be honest, they seem a little daunting, if not dangerous, and probably not available in most small cities. But here are three new classes you can try that are guaranteed to break the boredom of your gym.
Belly up to the bar!
The ballet barre, that is. “I don’t want the body of a dancer,” said no one. While adult ballet barre classes are unlikely to make you look like Natalie Portman of Black Swan’s fame, they will tense and tone all major muscle groups, particularly her legs and butt. This is because ballet uses a combination of yoga, pilates, and weight-bearing principles. Lovely classical music, something to hold on to as you get fit and no, you don’t have to wear a tutu, what don’t you like?
Jump into your fitness!
If you thought your days of bouncing on the playground trampoline were over, think again! Mini trampolines or bounces are taking the commercial and home gyms by storm. You can jump with your friends to fun tunes at your local gym, or bounce alone in the privacy of your own home. Not only will you get intense cardiovascular exercise, rebounding strengthens your core and balance while tightening and toning your legs and arms. Plus … it’s great fun taking your inner child out!
Rock a pound!
Channel your inner drummer in this incredible high intensity class. It’s so much fun that you won’t even know you’re burning some serious calories while sculpting and rationalizing the muscle in your arms and legs. Using lightly heavy drumsticks and fast-paced dance music, this amazing workout offers intense fun and sweat for a slimmer person!
If you can’t find a Pound class at your local gym, search YouTube for many tutorials and classes online. We think it’s a great exercise for couples (men love to play the drum, right?), So get your friends together and give it a try, you’ll love it!
No matter what you do … just do something. Physical activity should be enjoyable if you plan to do it regularly, so insert a variety in your exercise life to have fun and stay fit.
